Exclude in Smart Search was created by Thomas Thrane
I’m trying Smart Search for the first time.
It’s on a customer site and I use K2 where I have made some articles/items.

My issue is that if I search for my name “thrane”, I get a bunch of results - all the items I’m the author of.
The same happens when my customer searches on her name.

What can I do to avoid this?

The author name is part of the indexed data. You can't disable it.

In any case, why is this an issue? I mean, people can just click your name on a K2 item and see all your K2 items.

I don’t have any author names/links visible.
I removed them using overrides.

The customer is updating the site, writing new articles in K2.
At the same time, she is listed along with other employees, so when I search for her name, I don’t just get her subpage, but articles she wrote and that they don’t want.

Makes sense?

I'm afraid there is no option for what you ask. You can always not use smart search and just opt for "regular" search.

Either way you're assuming one would search for a name...

Sorry to hear ...
I prefer Smart Search - and yes I assume they will search for a name, since they have quite a few employees, which their customers search for ...

It's probably not a big deal though...

For them.

What you ask is too specific to change in K2. It's also most likely part of com_content as well as we used its smart search plugin as the basis for K2's.

It's quite a big deal for them, that when you search for a name, articles from this person doesn't, just because they are the author of it.
If their names was in the text, yes, then it should be displayed in the result.
