images with the .png extension was created by Aleksey
Hello. I have been using the K2 component for a long time, several versions have already changed, but it is still not possible to use images in .png format (or in other image formats other than .jpg). When this feature will be implemented? Without this feature, after installing a new version, I have to constantly get into php files for changes.

Never, really. PNG images are best for graphics, not images on the web.
But that's the reason you have extra fields, so you can add your own images if you like, as if you were using K2's "Image" tab.

Your position is very strange, usually the client decides which format to use. I prefer to use .png rather than .jpg, and I don't want to wonder if it's for graphics or for the web. And I know how to solve this issue, but I have to make edits, as I already wrote. Is it really such a difficult task to make it possible to choose which format to use?

I want to clarify after 1 year, maybe something was done to use other image formats in the component except .jpg? I remind you, I am interested in the possibility of using the .png format

Sorry, no. It's most likely that WEBP support will be added for K2 within the year (in parallel to JPG) and to improve the overall performance of a site, but definitely not PNG.

Hi.
Has anything changed on my question at the moment? Several new versions have been released, perhaps now the ability to use the .png image format has been developed
The fact is that we are not satisfied with the image with the background, so we remove the background on our images. JPG is in any case an image with a background - white, for example. This is unacceptable for us.
