Add new item (Direct Edit page) was created by saovry
I just wonder about the Add new item is working, when user register/super user login and click on it. the link brings them to the edit page (Button Save and Close)

Is there anything to enable that allows the user to submission at the front page without going to the backend? because I want any users can submission the item from front page.

Assign permissions for this group (Writer)
Post comments : yes
Frontend item editing : yes
Add items : yes
Edit own items : yes
Edit any item : no
Publish items : yes
Allow editing of already published items : yes

Assign group permissions to these categories
Filter : All
Automatically assign group permissions to the children of selected categories : Yes

And I assign users to this group already (Writer)

Any users and super user and we click Add new Item, we get this page
/index.php/profile
prnt.sc/zzn774

K2 use Edit and Add New Items page together?

thank u

- Ensure Frontend Editing is enabled in K2's component settings
- Assign a default K2 User Group for new signups. You can move existing users there by using the relevant "Move" option in the K2 Users list in the backend.
- Ensure that the created or chosen K2 User Group has the proper editing permissions and assigned ONLY to the categories you want frontend users to submit content to.
- Publish the "K2 User" module in the frontend so users can see their available editing actions.

That's just about it.

prnt.sc/100z23q
prnt.sc/100z2sz (All users post items, I configured like that)
prnt.sc/100z4y8
prnt.sc/100z5qb
My front page prnt.sc/100z796
When I click Add a new item in this category/Add new item, I go to edit page
I don't see where I can create new items, save and new, save and close..

Preface: K2 User Groups are not tied to Joomla User Groups. They work in parallel.

a) I didn't see if you specified allowed categories in the K2 User Group settings (I assume the one named WRITING).
b) Unless the frontend editing form is broken for some reason (old override in place or JS/CSS injected by your template or other plugins in the form), when you click to "add a new item", you expect to see the form to add an item. Not a list of your items. These are visible in the user's profile page (blog).
c) Ensure that when a user signs up is indeed assigned to this WRITING K2 User Group.

My guess is that some mix-up occurs between your Joomla user group permissions (are all these needed if you don't have any other content beyond K2?) if neither (a) or (b) or (c) are an issue...

a) I didn't see if you specified allowed categories in the K2 User Group settings (I assume the one named WRITING).
Yes, I allowed categories in K2 under User Group WRITING (In this Group, I enable everything even though Allow Edit any Item.). And any new user sign up will assign to this WRITING group. With User Group Call WRITING, I enable everything and I selected all my categories under it also. I tried to sign a new user with K2 but I still can't ADD New Item.

b) Unless the frontend editing form is broken for some reason (old override in place or JS/CSS injected by your template or other plugins in the form), when you click to "add a new item", you expect to see the form to add an item. Not a list of your items. These are visible in the user's profile page (blog).
I changed the name template but it doesn't help me at all. I test with Preview protostar - Default.

c) Ensure that when a user signs up is indeed assigned to this WRITING K2 User Group.
I signed up new user with K2 and it is really assign to this WRITING K2 User Group but I still can't post NEW ITEM.

When I click to Post A New Item
prnt.sc/101pk1z

It brings me to this page
prnt.sc/101plzy

Is it correct?

Could I see the sample page of Edit Form and Add New Item form? or backend setting.

thank u..

Yes. that's the form.

But if you can't add content in K2, you're limited by your Joomla User Group. If you still have the default "Registered" user group in K2, assign a user to it and make sure that user is also in the WRITING K2 User Group. And test again.

Is this a problem or not? Advanced Permissions Report for Group #8, Super Users
prnt.sc/102u2f0

but for Advanced Permissions Report for User #416, Administrator, it is for Super User
prnt.sc/102u7yq

What is the problem now?

Let me ask you about the form that you said, it is that form..
To add content with k2, what I can do with that form..
1. fill in content and choose a category and other as I want. And then I will click the button Save and If it is correct, I will click the button close to close the form.
2. If I want to add another content, I need to do like point 1.

Is it the correct way to add content with K2.

And at the backend, we have these Save Save & Close Save & New Cancel. Are there buttons on the front page or not?

I hope this information can help me to understand...

thank
