I'm looking for possible reasons why K2 category listing pages are loading much slower(10+ seconds) than Joomla core pages or even k2 items. It wasn't that way until recently. I had recently added some categories, and we're always adding more K2 items, we have about 1000 active K2 items. I've tried:

1. Optimizing the database
2. deleting all unused categories and trashed K2 items
3. Upgrading php to 7.4

Any ideas how to track down the cause of the slow K2 category listings?

Hi,

In the past, www.blackfire.io/ helped me to diagnose performance issues. Also, Xdebug has a tool to check performance issues.

This is my leading case, running K2 and Joomla 3: sisanjuan.gob.ar/. Yesterday, I upgraded it to PHP 8 and it is delivering pages in 100ms.
