Hola, tengo el siguiente problema en un diario digital: The table '(temporary)' is full y la gente del host me dijo que el problema es que k2 esta generando tablas temporales de más de 4GB, ¿cómo puedo solucionar dicho error?

This can be normal if your database is large. It's not a K2 or Joomla specific issue.
Depending on how (or if) MySQL/MariaDB is optimized, a temporary table can balloon to hundreds of GBs on a very busy site, e.g. from aggressive crawling or just traffic.
With proper database tuning (this is a good starting point for cPanel servers gist.github.com/fevangelou/0da9941e67a9c9bb2596 and this for Ubuntu/CentOS etc. servers gist.github.com/fevangelou/fb72f36bbe333e059b66) and the use of InnoDB as storage engine in all Joomla tables, your site will perform better and less temporary tables will be created.

Hola. De acuerdo con Fotis, esta situación puede considerarse normal si la base de datos es muy grande especialmente en sitios con mucho tráfico. ¿Cuantos artículos tienes en K2? ¿Tiene el sitio tráfico muy pesado?
Puedes contactar a tu proveedor de hosting y preguntarles si pueden implementar las optimizaciones que compartió Fotis

Primero, gracias a ambos por la ayuda, segundo, al día de hoy, disponemos de: 11435 artículos publicados. El promedio de visitas diarias esta en 4000 más o menos. ¿Si quitaramos artículos viejos, esto mejoraría?

Sí, sería esperable que al reducir la carga de artículos también se reduzca la carga en la base de datos. Para un promedio de 120 mil visitas mensuales se requiere un servicio de hosting medianamente avanzado. Cuál es el tamaño máximo permitido para bases de datos en el actual?

Estamos usando este proveedor: baehost.com/es-ar/web-hosting-argentina/hosting-corporativo el de alta demanda. Disculpa si la respuesta no es la acertada, ignoro bastante el tema servidores.

Tinchosan, tienes acceso raíz al servidor o es un servicio compartido? En caso contrario podrías solicitar al proveedor que implemente las optimizaciones?
Fotis, according to the website it is a shared high demand web hosting service ($600+/month option). It doesn't say it very clear but the it is not in the VPS section.

I'm guessing that too. In any case, ~11k items is not much. Either there are very strict limitations in place (e.g. if they use CloudLinux with cPanel) or they simply have no idea how to optimize the server's database (which is bad if you pay for a premium service).

El servidor, es compartido, los dedicados valen el doble o más. El diario esta funcionando ahora, pero sabemos que se puede caer sin previo aviso.
