Restricted content and search results

Hello,

I have downloaded the plugin, read all the documentation, read and looked through the forum for quite a bit of time - but I cannot seem to understand something.

My website is about art, and I am building it in Joomla now. Trying out K2. It is going to become a membership site.

1. I need to make the popup pictures and their info restricted to paying members, but not the thumbnails.
2. I also need the thumbnails to be found by search engines. Is it possible? If so - how?

Please help me understand this.

Thank you,
Vera

No. 1 is not possible. How could it? We don't mention such a thing anywhere in the product description. But you can hack your way around this, now that SIG Pro supports MVC templates. I would modify the template of my liking (inside my Joomla template's /html folder) and add code necessary to hide the links to the popup image for guests, but reveal them for subscribers...

No. 2 is of course a feature. Google crawls SIG Pro galleries just fine.

I just purchased SIG Pro and have started adding titles to the en-GB.labels.txt file, but they are not showing up in my Joomla search results but are displaying perfectly on the article page.  Is it possible to get title and description included in Joomla search?  are there certain settings that need to be set somewhere to make this work?

There is no way i beleive. Joomla issue, not gallery.
If you use SIG for K2 you can tweak code to have one hidden extra field where you copy/paste all content of labels.txt file. And tweak search to search for that field also.

Don´t know how to do it for Joomla articles, as they don´t have custom fields.

you just gave me a great idea.  I copied the complete text of the en-GB.labels.txt file and pasted it into the Meta Keywords field under the MetaData Options in the Article in the backend.  It works - now my caption & descriptions are showing up in Joomla search results with link to the article that the gallery is displayed on.

THANKS!!!

Thank you for answering at last.

I am not a programmer. Can you please instruct me how to make that modification?

Thank you.
