Hello Folks!

I´ve read a few Pages with all those Gallery- and Thumbnails-Not-Shown Topics. But sadly, all of them ended like "pm me with Administrator Access" - no Topic solved, no Solutions posted.

I am having the following Issue:

System
- Simple Gallery Pro Plugin
- K2 v2.3
- Joomla 1.5.23

What i am trying to do / What i did a several times

- Created a new Article named "test"
- uploaded a Zip, containing Pictures to be shown as Gallery in that Article

Setups, Solutions & Workarounds i made
- the Zip has to contain just the Pictures, you want to upload (not a Folder containing them)
- make sure you setup the correct Gallery Path in the Plugin Setup
- make sure the Gallery Path is setup with the correct Rights (755)

I also tried
- setting the Gallery path up to media/k2/galleries instead of the default images/stories
- uploading the Pictures with FTP into the Path I setup in the Plugin Setup and...
- using {gallery}nameofthefolderyouuploaded{/gallery}

Stuff that should happen but did not
- Upload in the Article Edit (Gallery Upload) with a Zip -> nothing saved, no Folder created
- Upload in the Article Edit (Gallery Upload) with a Zip -> no Thumbnail or Folder created
- using the String Variable "{gallery}myfolder{/gallery}" with a Folder-Path of my own (Setup in the Plugin) - No Thumbsnails, Pictures shown in Big-Size worked

Ok... thats my Story ;)

Pls let me know, if i missed an important Part of setting the Plugin up right. And thx for your Attention and hard work filtering all those repeating Posts like mine.

Greetings

After getting a Tip with the Filenames from: forum.joomlaworks.net/simple-image-gallery-pro-%28plugin%29/as-usual-no-thumbnails/

I could figure out the Thumbnail-Problem, if...

- Plugin Setup: Root set to "images/stories"
- creating a folder named "test" in "images/stories" (for example)
- upload Pictures with FTP (or internal with Joomla) into the Folder i created
- making sure no special Characters are used in the Filename (incl. caps, slashes for example)
- use the string "{gallery}test{/gallery]" in the Article

Result: I got Thumbs and the Gallery itself is working well.

But it´s still not possible to upload Pictures in a Zip with the ingrated Function and add the on the fly...  :(

OK, Guys... regarding to my last Post - the Upload already worked. I just did not check, after i got those "Blue-Links" in the Article Backend, which are still not working.

Seems like the non-workin´ Links in the Backend and the non-workin´ Popups (if not Mootools) are K2-Issues. We need to wait for the 2.5 Update for K2.

Finally here is my actual Setup to get it workin´ (for all those Buds, which got the same Problems):

Getting started

- be sure to use the latest Versions of SIGpro, K2, and Joomla 1.5
- install SIGpro
- check the Root-Path (should be "images/stories")
- check Folder-Rights for your whole Joomla System (755 Folders, 644 Files)
- be sure to have the Mootools Plugin activated
- be sure to Setup Slimbox (powered by Mootools), if you have Problems with the other Popup-Engines

Upload / Automatic Gallery

- be sure the Picture Files, you want to upload, are not having Special-Characters, like "/" or "("
- Filename Example: mypicture1.jpg, mypicture2.jpg ...
- be sure to pack only the Picture Files (not a Folder) into the Zip-Container
- be sure the Filesize of the Zip is not above the max. Upload-Size your php.ini is setup to. (you can check this in the "Informations")
- Files you uploaded, are saved in "media/k2/galleries/" not at "images/stories"

Using the string "{gallery}yourfolder{/gallery}"

- Setup SIGpro as shown before
- Create a Folder of your Choice in "images/stories"
- Upload your Pictures with FTP or in Joomla
- be sure the Picture Files, you want to upload, are not having Special-Characters, like "/" or "("
- Filename Example: mypicture1.jpg, mypicture2.jpg ...
- use "{gallery}yourfolder{/gallery}" in the Article

Knowing Bugs regarding K2, Template-Issues, (should be fixed with the upcoming 2.5 Version)

- Links in the Article Backend are not correctly directing to the Files you uploaded / you might get a "403" if you want to max. them.
- Using different Popup-Engines instead of "Slimbox" might not work
- Popup-Engines might not work at all

I will let you know, if i can work out those Issues left. Thanks to the SIGpro Team, for helping out and supporting.
