It happens consistently in Chrome and Firefox, even on the demo. I am using Galleria on a customer's site, and if this is not resolved I will have to rebuild our galleries with some other solution. I would hate to have to do that since I think SIG Pro would be the ideal solution. But as it stands, Galleria is unusable.

If you only click the thumbnails ONCE, it appears to work fine. But just try to go back to a thumbnail you clicked before; it will take more than one click. Try it again, and it may take three or more clicks.

I have done some testing and found that every time you click any of the thumbnails, it takes more clicks on the next thumbnail. So if you clicked one thumbnail, then clicked another, it will then take three clicks on the following, four on the next, etc. Eventually you have to click 16 or more time before the image will even attempt to load. This is not a performance issue, but a bug in the Galleria JavaScript for SIG Pro.

I have tested this out using Beez and Atomic templates with Joomla caching turned off completely, and the results are exactly the same. Somehow when you click the thumbnail, it is going into some loop that's causing it yo require more clicks progressively.

Please test this and see for yourself. I was able to predict how many clicks it would take, so this is a predictable pattern and is because of a bug somewhere in your JavaScript for Galleria. Please try to reproduce what I described above and see if you can fix it in your code.

ps. I wish I could tell you exactly what is causing the need for extra clicks, but I am not familiar enough with SIG Pro's code to go and debug it. Wouldn't make sense for me to do that. However, it is a predictable pattern that you should be able to repeat on your end. Others have reported similar symptoms.

Any updates on this problem? It is still easy to re-create this on the demopage
demo.joomlaworks.net/simple-image-gallery-pro

On the Galleria Layout Demo, click on the "Eva Green", click on "Bond Running", click on these two back and forth, sometimes the picture is shown at once, sometimes is takes two or threee clicks before anything happens.

The problem does not seem specific to certain browser!

Could someone have a look at this problem, we are building a site with this component as a critical part. The customer noticed this behaviour at once, and did not find it acceptable.

/ Stefan

I just have noticed the issue... It happens not very often however...
We will check it out asap.

I can concur with this. I can also now calculate how many clicks it takes to open an image. You have to add one more every time you hit the image. Imagine trying to write instructions to your site visitors on how to get the image gallery to work!!!

Hi Katia,
Any news on the multiple clicks needed on each successive thumbnail image to get the main image to display.

Regards Brian...

I was using Galleria but have come up with another solution that will allow me to use a thumbnail display along with a large image.
I am using:

1. Front Page Slideshow (JJ Obs)
2. RokTabs

I have some galleries where I need to have multiple pages of images, so I created separate articles for each, and separate galleries for each, and put them together on a single page using RokTabs. Works well, and looks more less like it would have if I had used Sig Pro.

ps. you can see how I did it at:

Hi Everyone,

I'm having the exact same problem and it happens all the time. It looks like every time you click on a thumbnail it will take extra clicks to make the image display again.
An update on this problem would be very welcome. Last time Katia updated us was on September 26th and we are now November 4th and no news, I don't understand what they mean with ASAP.

See my notes above on how to do that. Don't wait for this to get fixed; who knows how long it will take. Use FPSS instead.
