I have upgreaded my SIGPRO version 2.5.4 to 2.5.6 and now all my previous labels.txt files are replaced by a sv-SE.labels.txt so if i have multiple sites with multiple albums there's a lot of work copy and paste in old label texts into this new files.
Is there something I have missed or is this the bitter reality when upgrading to 2.5.6 version?

I have also encountered that the option "Smart thumbnail resize based on above dimensions" has disappeared as well. And lastly the parameter settings page also look messed up.

Do I have to reinstall it or is there something I can adjust myself?

That's not the case really. Upgrading has no issues. And the label files are not recreated if they already exist.

The fact that you see parameters of the plugin missing in the backend, leads me to believe that a) the plugin did not upgrade properly or b) your Joomla core site files could be corrupt and thus don't render the plugin params right.

I recommend you install the free Akeeba Admin Tools extension, use it's built-in feature to upgrade/re-install Joomla files. It's completely harmless and will make sure your Joomla site files are all there. Before using Admin Tools, download Akeeba Backup (the free edition) and get a full site backup.
