would like to get this working ASAP as i'm working to a deadline and haven't even managed to get started using this plugin

The problem im having now is that i've installed custom code module for the plugin to work but my homepage will now not load at all since enabling the module with the gallery code

Please uninstall it. You don't need it with K2.
