Large gallery 500+ images was created by wimsel
Greetings,
I'm searching for a gallery wich can handle large galleries up to 500-600 images.
Does anyone have experience with ImageGallery PRO and a large number of images? Will the page still load in reasonable time?
Thanks in advance,
Wim van den Haak

500-600 images on one page?? Are you serious? Your website will probably timeout because of the30-40 megabyte size of that page!! No gallery can handle that!! 8)
However, using SIG Pro, you can easily create 20 content items and put 20-25 images on each one pretty faster than you would with any other Joomla extension! ;)

Actually, what I would expect would be an option to set number of thumbnails per page. So that we could have multiple pages of thumbnails which would cover all the images in the folder specified in that content item. These pages should of course have a navigation panel at the bottom. This facility is present in Virtuemart and I have used it on my site, www.indianclipart.in. But virtuemart does not fulfil my current requirement of allowing the client to upload the required images in a folder.

You could use subforums and joomla pagination for that ;)
so putting elt's say 20 images in each subfolder and calling each subfolder in each page...

If SigPro had a pagination feature liked promised a year ago in the next update this would be resolved. Currently if you have large galleries you and a large file structure you are out of luck. Now you have to make even more file folders and divided you images into groups of 20-30 images.

Thanks for your answer.
Well, but it means I have to create one page per subfolders if I don't want SIGpro to download every pictures at the same time, right? That would be a problem too because I don't want to have a huge list like "TITLE1, TITLE2, TITLE3..." in my category...
I really need this release...

Hi my friends!
A lot of our customers ask this feature!
Please, be a bit patient!
This feature needs an ajax implication in the code and we have it in beta testing.
Thank you!
