Hide captions with K2 & sigpro was created by Sebastian van Greunen
Hi Support
i am using sigpro 2.5.6, k2 2.5.4 & Joomla 2.5.1. The captions work perfectly with the labels.txt file. Sometimes I do not need the caption to show, but the plugin seems to only the captions on or off. Is there a way to code the plugin to show caption only when a label.txt files is found and hide captions if no file is found.
Thanks

So i take it that captions are either on or off??. Makes it quite tricky for k2 sites with multiple authors (who forget to add captions).

Hi Katia
i think you misunderstood my problem. I have set the plugin to read from the label file. Sometimes, however, let's say when an author does not need the caption, then I do not want to see the default caption at all. Please bear in mind that, as previously mentioned, I am using K2 so I am not adding galleries inside articles, but only using the gallery plugin so I do not have the option of set a caption option for each item ( not that I know of anyway). i assume something like this would require coding of the plugin itself?
Regards
Sebastian

I am having the same issue.
I am using sig pro to display galleries for flickr in k2 items, where I would like to show captions, and I am using again sig pro to add additional images to k2 items, where I don't want to display captions.
The only option I have is at the plugin settings, I cannot configure at k2 media tab whether I would like to have captions or not for the specific item.
maybe this is a nice feature to add in k2 - sig pro integration in general?

This is not an option at SIG PRO in K2 items as the gallery takes the settings of the plugin.
However, you may add some galleries manually like it is stated in SIG PRO documentation and set them not to have captions - or the opposite for example.

Hi Katia
Thank you for the reply. Yes I know about the additional settings that I can have per gallery but I don't know how to implement them at the k2 media gallery since the sigpro command line is automatically created when I upload a zip file.

As you can read at the documentation at custom galleries paragraph you may add or not captions:
"caption_mode" control how captions (labels) are displayed. It takes only 3 values, either "0" (no captions), "1" (caption with generic messages) or "2" (captions coming from labels.txt files).
