Im having a couple of issues with this plugin..

It still crops thumbnails despite having smart thumbnail resize enabled

In Galleria view, portrait pictures are enlarged and look blocky - I spend a fair bit of time resizing my photos for the web, I would prefer it if the module would just display them actual size :)

You can see what I mean here:

Hello Jimmyeau,

I have the same problem... I am newbie. it crops me the thumbnails and I don't know how to solve it. I bought the software so it is not a thing of not having payed the full version.
do you know when the images are shown in big, is it the normal image resolution?
Thank you very much in advance,

A nicer way to do it:
Choose a background colour for the thumbnail
All thumbnails are the same size, eg 160x160
The picture is resized to 160 on the longest edge
The resized picture is then centred within the 160x160

The same could be applied to the Galleria when showing portrait pictures – allow the user to specify a background colour and just display the picture actual sieze so it doesn’t get stretched.

As a photographer, this is the best gallery plugin I have found so far, and with a few tweaks it could be truly awesome!

@jimmyeao: Thank you very much for your answer and encouragement  :) . sorry but I don't understand one thing: when you resize the images to thumbnails e.g. 160x160 , you only resize the longest edge so proportions of image get maintained and do we have to upload also the thumbnails images we have resized into the joomla cache folder? as well as the normal images that will be displayed in big in images/stories/namefolder? Will the software center automatically the images 160x 160 in the small thumbnails?
thank you so much!

My idea was aimed at the Simple Image Gallery Pro authors  :D
Just a way the plugin could work - it would be nice if we could have more control over some of the settings!
