Extracting captions from EXIF was created by fnphoto
I'd love to be able to extract the captions from the EXIF automatically. In the documentation, it says :"Although using EXIF data from JPEG images originally sounded like a nice idea, it soon became obvious to us the trouble in which users would get to add a few captions to their images..."
??! I wonder how you do it Adding captions via lightroom, bridge, photomechanics or any other similar program is definitely faster and easier than your way. Please give it a try.
My issues is that I already have all my pictures captioned and need to change the images in my galleries quite often.
I would be ready to pay extra for this feature so please think about it if you can do it technically.
Thank you

I second this. I'm in the process of looking for a new image gallery because SIG does not do this. I would also pay extra for this option ... it's critical.
At least add a way on the backend to caption each photo. This text file is great for people who know what they're doing, but how do you expect the non-web savvy folks to add captions? People need to know the intricacies of FTP before they could even upload appropriately. This TXT doc "solution" just isn't a good solution unless your a webdev.

Did you read SIG PRO documentation? You just need to upload the labels.txt file of each gallery inside the gallery folder via the Media Manager at joomla backend.

Yep, I'm intimately familiar, been using SIG for years now. I'm also intimitely familiar building sites and having to make them for people who don't know how to use sites. The idea of uploading a .txt file to a specific folder buried under folder after folder is managable, but trying to teach people that ever little space and character within the text file is absolutely critical ... is nearly impossible. Normal, non-web-geeks like all of us, alot of times don't have the attention to detail to get it right, they run into problems, and the whole kitten-match starts crumbling.
All I'm saying, is that captions for gallery photos should be supported on the backend somehow. Upload a zip file, and when it's extracted, the photos show up with the caption & image credits box next to each photo, you past the info in there and click apply. This is such an incredible product I hate for it to seem incomplete, because the devs created a workaround for their community instead of completing the entire program. Captions are essential for photographs. I can always start some online money raising campaign to try and bribe you guys into including this :)

Hopefully, in the next SIG PRO version the caption system will be much friendlier to non-geek web users. ;)

I'm new to this, and I have tried for several days. Still it does not work, I have made a txt file like this: 1_House_Banyuls_France.jpg|A House in Banyuls, France| (I don't want any descriptions only the title.) But still it does not work. My site is ready to go on-line. The titles to the photos is all that is missing! Do I really have to find another plug-in and start all over again? The rest works just fine!!!
Could somebody out there please help me?
