Clicked on image Gallery, upload zip file click save and was shown this error message:

There was a problem rendering your image gallery. Please make sure that the folder you are using in the Simple Image Gallery Pro plugin tags exists and contains valid image files. The plugin could not locate the folder: media/k2/galleries/26.

The folder 26 exists ok with the image folder named fortrose inside 26.

The plug in root is set to images as advised.

I can set this {gallery}fortrose{/gallery} inside the item but this is defeating the whole object.

I paid for this extension to be able to click on Image Gallery then upload zip file click on save and my image gallery should be in place without the need to use the {gallery} and install the normal plug in way. Where have I gone wrong

yes plug in enabled, I am using a sub-template for this site. It works if I use the {gallery} inside the item but not when I use the zip install this is what I get

I have just checked and the file is definitely inside /media/k2/galleries/43

Thank you, figured it out after you proved for me it works.

I was saving the folder of images as a zip file instead of selecting the images individually and then saving as a zip
