Caption file not being read sig pro 2.5.7 was created by nicole

I am migrating a working site from joomla 1.5 to 2.5.x all works well in 1.5 but my captions show TITLE
the code calling sig pro is:
{gallery}travaux/eglise-cuzance:::0:2{/gallery} j1.5 root dir -> images/stories

{gallery}stories/travaux/eglise-cuzance:::0:2{/gallery} j2.5 root dir -> images

the labels.txt file is saved in utf-8 and is unchanged

I have another site running 2.56 and that works fine although the root dir in that one is images/stories, am unwilling to upgrade that site yet till I have a solution

Has anyone any ideas please

Same problem with new joomla 1.7 an sig pro 2.5.7.
any solutions?

Make sure that you have insert the captions file in the gallery folder, that you have set the plugin parameters to display custom captions and lastly that you have written the captions as they should be.
