When you click on an image to enlarge you can view the image but no "next" or "previous" buttons appear - so no chance to get to the next image of the gallery. You have to enlarge every image one step a time. What's wrong? Thanks for help!

This is how Galleria template works. You may navigate via the thumbs too...

Oh I'm sorry. I thought layout template "Galleria" works with previous and next button like all others.
Now I re-checked in your extensions demo and noticed this is possible in all templates but not in "Galleria". Why?
I changed to "Polaroids" - here it works as I want. Why not in "Galleria"?

Cause you may navigate with the thumbs....
