I'm using Joomla 2.5.3 and K2 with latest SIG Pro Version.

When I upload a zip-File in the gallery tab of an K2 article  I can see the images but I don't see the path of the new gallerie (like {gallery}gallery123{/gallery} ).

Also when looking on the server via FTP I can't find the gallery (also not under media/k2/gallery).

Therefore I can't include the uploaded gallery into my articel.

In the plugin settings the root folder is set to "images".

Does the gallery display fine in your k2 item?

No, the one uploaded as a zip file is not displayed. One reason is, that I don't know the path to it (and I can't find via FTP server) because after uploading I don't see a path like {gallery}gallery123{/gallery} to insert it.

If I use the tag with a folder that I manually uploaded via FTP, then the gallery is displayed.

So the question is, where is my zip-file stored and why is the tag not displayed.

Using K2 you do not need writing tags...
You just upload the gallery in zip via the K2 item tab "Gallery".
In SIG PRO plugin parameter for path you are just writing: images.

But where is the file stored? And where is the gallery being placed in the articel.

If I don't insert a tag, I don't see a gallery in my articel.

However, you may pm me access to your backend in order to upload a gallery in a k2 item for testing and see by your own!
