Hello,

I use SIGPro (v2.5.7) with K2 (v2.5.7) and !Joomla (v2.5.6) for a news magazine. It is a powerfull combination of tools that offers editors a mighty and mostly easy to use interface.

Only one thing really bothers us: Putting captions into galleries is just to cumbersome for daily use! The concept of "labels.txt" is not suitable for day to day use for several reasons:

1. The images have to be seen when writing the caption. So this would have to be offline, which may be acceptable when no workflow is implemented. But when an editor has to review captions of an author before publishing it, it is very cumbersome (download, change, upload, check) and still has the problem that caption and image are not seen together. This is all the more true for large galleries.

2. There is no call to action available for the tumbnail (we mostly use single thumbnails in texts), because the caption title of the first image will also show in the gallery view.

3. Manually editing a text file that has harsh restriction on structure and syntax is prone to errors, because authors and editors are focused on content creation, not technical issues (as should be!).

4. And because of the same reason, requiring HTML source code to format captions is also prone to errors.

So maybe it is about time to treat SIGPro to some interfaced caption capabilities within !Joomla or K2 :-)

Regard
Jim Knopf
