Hi,

I have just bought this plugin after seeing it should work straight away in K2 (I'n using a joomlart template).

I install the plugins;
I check the root folder is set to images and permissions are 777
I check the cache folder has 777
I go to an item in K2 and upload a zip file with four images in and it shows it seems to have worked with the setting {gallery}71{/gallery}
I check in images though and there is no 71 folder
I then can no longer look at the item I have uploaded the photo's for in the backend. all I get is a blank white screen. I have checked that the plugin is enabled.
Can some one please let me know if I am doing anything stupid as it all seems so simple to do but it doesn;t work at all.

I have done a little more digging and it seems that the gallery folders are ALWAYS getting created in /media/k2/galleries, regardless of where I specify in "Root folder for image galleries" in the plug-in manager. This now has 777 to and it still doesn't work.  I have to disable the plugin in order to work on any item I have tried to use a gallery with.

I've had to remove the plugin completely as it completely broke my site. The homepage was showing a blank white screen with just a 0 at the top left.

Please install Admin Tools from www.akeebabackup.com/ in order to fix your permissions as they should be and then reinstall the extension.

Right permissions on all joomla sites:
755 for folders
644 for files

Make sure that you use the latest K2 version too!

Excellent, thanks for the response. I did the following;
  • Installed the admin package and fixed permissions
  • Updated K2
  • Installed a fresh version of Gallery
  • Reduced the images from 1900 to 1200 pixels

It works fine now thanks. i think it's just a case of tweaking how it looks for me now.

Thanks,
Paul.
