Just wondering how to have the images within a thumbnail scale up to fit the aspect of the edge of the thumbnail.

Check the plugins configuration!

Example settings and parameters might be:

Thumbnail viewport width: 100
Thumbnail viewport height: 100

Smart thumbnail resize based on above dimensions: Enabled!


Headsup!
Remember to generate fresh thumbnails during development and testing. Otherwise you might not see the results and updated image size. See plugins advanced parameters:
"Thumbnail cache expiration time: 0"

You may also clear browser cache.
