filename as Title - Can I automate the process?

I have "Simple Image Gallery PRO" on my site and can't seem to get the automatic labeling to work. I want to use the filename as the label or caption.

I have searched through the forum looking for answers, but am still not clear and hope someone can help.

Presently I use the string {gallery}Components/Climbers{/gallery} and it works perfectly regarding the layout.

If I turn the caption engine on, all I see is 'Title' on each image.

So I then tried using {gallery labels=filename}Components/Climbers{/gallery} but that always breaks the page.

In each image folder I see the automatically generated en-GB.labels.txt file (BentLadder_LG.jpg|Title|<b>Description</b>
You can use HTML as you can see!).

However, my question is, do I really need to go through hundreds of lines to manually enter text for the |Title| when all I really want is the filename to be the 'Title'? I have several hundreds of files that already have acceptable filenames.

Is there a way to automatically populate the Title field with the filename?

Please let me know. Brad

Hoping that someone might know whether I can automate this process. I have 10 en-GB.labels.txt with about 50 lines in each....surely I don't need to copy the separate filenames and paste into each |Title|

Please let me know - Brad
