My article has a gallery in it {gallery}slides/jeff-glover-vacavi:194:194:0:1{/gallery} and it's working fine.

Works in the back end but if I log into the front end and click the Simple Image Gallery Pro link, the interface comes up with, "This site does not contain any galleries" in large letters.

Here is the answer I received to my question, after I created a ticket:

"When you create a gallery in front-end each user gets access to it's own folder. That is why you cannot see any of the galleries you have in the backend. K2 galleries are an exception since are always stored under /media/k2/galleries. "

I was able to resolve my situation with this information. I am told that the documentation on this page will be updated to reflect it.

SIG Pro is an awesome component. Having frontend Authors able to create and modify galleries is a crazy sweet feature!

this explained why I didnt see no images on frontend that I did in backend.

But my site has only one image uploader and I have tons of folders uploaded via FTP that I wanna use. Is there a wasy to set the in the Permission options that I would see all folders in my root/image  folder?

Yes you can use an extension like Admin Tools to batch correct the permissions.
