The PRO version of the popular "Simple Image Gallery" plugin by JoomlaWorks is finally here, redefining the way we add image galleries inside Joomla! articles (content items). Compared to the free version of the plugin, "Simple Image Gallery PRO" offers many additional features, including:

- Advanced thumbnail caching (for improved performance)
- Custom galleries per content item, with varying thumbnail dimensions per gallery (you can have for example one the same content item one gallery with thumbs at 200px wide and another at 140px wide!)
- Captions/labels on thumbnails
- Individual titles per image on popups
- Single thumbnail mode - ideal for powerpoint-like presentations
- Multiple languages supported (English, French, German, Greek - others will be added as well)
- Uses 3(!) popup-creation engines for maximum compatibility on your site. We've included (in their latest versions) the popular Slimbox (based on Mootools), Thickbox (based on jQuery) and Greybox (based on AJS) popup engines for you to choose and avoid possible conflicts with other Joomla! extensions that are based on javascript frameworks like Mootools, jQuery, Prototype etc.
- Backwards compatibility with the free version. You just uninstall the free version, install the PRO version and you're done!
- The code has been rewritten from the ground up for performance improvement.

The 1.1 update (already being developed) will also support Joom!Fish and additional looks for the thumbnail layouts.

The "Simple Image Gallery PRO" plugin is super-easy to use. Just add for example {gallery}myphotos{/gallery} inside any article and all images existing in the folder "myphotos" will be "automagically" presented as an image gallery, with stylish shadows on each thumbnail and "lightbox-like" popups to display the original images (when the user clicks on a thumbnail)! The thumbnails are generated using PHP (and cached to improve performance), which means that the original images are resized and resampled, too!

So now:
a) you don't need to have an additional gallery component to display a few images,
b) you don't need to tell your visitors "to see our photos from the party click here" and
c) you focus more on content writing and less on managing the images!

The plugin is ideal, in example, for news portals wanting to display some images inside their articles. The potential of this plugin is actually only limited by your imagination!

See the "Simple Image Gallery PRO" plugin in action at the official JoomlaWorks DEMO website at demo.joomlaworks.net/ and at www.danaoscinema.gr/ for a real-world example. Or visit our exclusive "Commercial Extensions Demo Site" at demo.joomlaworks.org/ to see the "Simple Image Gallery PRO" plugin in action, inside a default Joomla! installation.

The "Simple Image Gallery PRO" plugin for Joomla! 1.0.x retails for 12 Euros and comes with the high level of support that JoomlaWorks is reputable for.

You can buy the plugin at: www.joomlaworks.net

Enjoy!

Replied by JoomlaWorks on topic v1.2 update features...
This is a major release for "Simple Image Gallery PRO". We have:

1. Added 2 new popup engines, Litebox (which is based on moo.fx) and Lytebox, to offer even further compatibility with other javascript based Joomla! extensions. Lytebox, especially, has been thoroughly tested with all JoomlaWorks extensions and is full compatible. So you can have for example SIG Pro running Lytebox, on the same page with Frontpage Slideshow, Simple Image Rotator, Ultimate AJAX Newsflash, Content Items Fading Scroller (extensions heavily relying on javascript).

2. Added a new layout styling for the thumbnails. More will be added as the plugin is being upgraded with features.

3. Added one more language pack - Spanish.

4. Did some small CSS fixes for better IE browser compliance.

5. You can now choose to hide thumbnail "captions", but keep popup image "labels". This feature came as a request by many people who did not want to use the "caption word limit" option.

Version 1.2 of the plugin has been thoroughly tested and is compatible with all modern browsers.

To use this new version, simply uninstall the version you already have on your Joomla! website and install v1.2. Your galleries will NOT be lost, you do not need to re-write your content items!

The updated version is already sent to all existing customers...  :D

When will there be a fix to the getimagesize error problem that has been widely documented in the SIGPro support forum?

Just paid me Euros and have a broken product :(

Warning: getimagesize(/images/slideshows/Slideshows/Landscape/Slides/dscn3428.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/A/F/U/AFU77/html/joomla/plugins/content/jwsigpro/sigpro_engine.php on line 86
Image type not supported

I assume it's because somewhere along the lines, the filename has been converted to lower case, the one in my directory is uppercase!

(BTW I changed the case of the filename to lower, and refreshed, everything worked)

The same problem here. As the cameras tend to make the filenames in UPPERCASE it is totally impossible to rename all the files. Is there a better solution to get rid of the error message and get the gallery working!

BTW - I am using the plugin for Joomla 1.5. I didn't notice such problem in the version for Joomla 1.0

I also had this problem also Joomla 1.5. I upgraded from the free version which was working on the same site without a problem and suddenly everything was broken. Thanks for the solution Gary!
