Follow up on this issue please. I dont know if this is a bug but I tried pasting an article "content" (the one with a working gallery) in to my page "category description" and it still doesnt work.

Does that mean that i cant insert a gallery into a category or section description in joomla?

I'm afraid the use of the plugins only inside the content items ( without various hacks off course ) is a policy of joomla...

Try to use a user module and load it in the position you want!
