"Image type not supported" error was created by Chad Manookin
I have five galleries on my site using Simple Image Gallery Pro, but two of them don't work and are giving me the following error: "Image type not supported."

The only difference between these two galleries and the others is that they use .gif images in addition to .jpg.

I don't know why this would be an issue as support is enabled for both of these media types in PHP, as follows (from my GD section):
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
FreeType Version 2.2.1
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XPM Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

Any ideas?

Okay, after reading other messages on this board I went through and made sure that there was no capitalization of any of my images or file-names, and everything began working again.

This capitalization issue is somewhat confusing as I copied my folder structure over from a Joomla 1.0 version that was working correctly with the 1.0 compatible version of Simple Image Gallery Pro, so it didn't make sense that the Joomla 1.5 compatible version would suddenly have a problem with the same data.

Anyway, if you're experiencing anything even somewhat similar, make sure you check to make sure your file and folder names are lowercase and, for good measure, that they include no spaces or characters other than letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores.

The support used to be remarkably responsive here, but I suspect something must be going on in the developers' personal lives that has caused the sudden cessation in support.

So, to both customers and developers, good luck with your problems everyone.

OMG  :-* A whole day trying to fix this problem! I only did a search in Google out of frustration has I had exhausted every avenue, a quick change of file names to all lower-case and it all worked, great but how annoying.

At least I found this info here which put me straight.

Thank You.
