CSS file caching issue was created by Mike Hermary
Hello,

I am using a template override of the "Elegant" theme for galleries on my client's website. The files have been copied to the proper folder within the template, but the changes made to the "Elegant" theme's CSS file are not being displayed. I have the core Joomla caching enabled with the following options.
  • Cache: On - Conservative
  • Cache Handler: File
  • Cache Time: 5 minutes
  • Use Browser Caching: Yes
I have tried clearing the website cache using NoNumber Cache Cleaner and have repeatably cleared my browser's cache, but none of the CSS changes are displaying. I have setup a testing page here: www.sunrealgroup.com/sample-property for review purposes.

Any ideas on why this issue is occurring.

Hi,

The file is loaded from the correct location. However i cannot see any custom code there, i only see the default CSS rules:
www.sunrealgroup.com/templates/sunrealgroup/html/jw_sigpro/Elegant/css/template.css

Ensure that you have edited the correct file. Finally note that this is a static file, Joomla! cache does not affect this at all.

Clearing the cache in your browser should work.
If not then you might be using a CDN for serving static files.

Hello,

The CSS file being shown when you visit it in the browser contains the original CSS, but when I pull it from the server via FTP, the updated CSS is displayed in my text editor, so there seems to be some kind of issue taking place.

I do not have a CDN in use, though I do have Cloud Flare enabled for the domain through Media Temple. I can change the CSS in my template's CSS file and not experience any issues after the 5 minute caching session has expired.

Any other ideas?

Cloudflare is a CDN. That's why you don't see your changes.
