Hello, I have SIG Pro version 3.0.7 and found that if I want to set a caption for just ONE image, once set the caption repeats for all images thereafter. I don't know if this is fixed in newer versions, but I wanted folks to know of the workaround I found.
Joomla 3.4.3. SIG global settings: using Galleria layout template, "normal" display mode, default caption (label) handling = "read contents of caption files."
Example call to plugin in my article = {gallery}portfolio/4rubisDr:120:90:0:2{/gallery}
You can see the "2" which means caption mode = use labels.txt, which is actually named en-GB.labels.txt, a file in that images folder images/portfolio/4rubisDr.
Web page showing this gallery is here:
agikehoe.com/portfolio/rubis-dr-garden
Excerpt from labels.txt:
misc04-green-gray-street.jpg||
misc05-porch.jpg||
misc06-monarch-homeowner.jpg|Monarch butterfly on milkweed. Photo by homeowner.|Monarch butterfly on milkweed. Photo provided by homeowner.
misc06-under-tree29.jpg| |
misc07-blue-eyed-grass43.jpg||
You can see I've set a caption for the "monarch" photo. To my surprise, all the images that followed the monarch photo, received this same caption, not in the thumbnail overlay but as a title line below the main image.
The workaround: see the one space character in the line after the monarch line, the "under-tree" line? That space forms an empty caption and appears to be the caption used for the remainder of the gallery.
Creating captions using the admin back end, the captions are shown as in my labels.txt file. I think there's a bug in the way SIG displays the captions: once it sets a caption, in the next image it forgets to turn off the caption if that next image has no caption.
I hope someone finds this workaround to be helpful, and that JoomlaWorks can fix this bug in a future release. I didn't see this bug mentioned in the announcement of SIG 3.0.8.
Cheers,
Carol
