Cannot use $ symbol? was created by tami
I have now run into this issue for a second time.
This is where we're implementing SIG Pro.
How can we "escape" the $ sign so that pricing shows up properly?

No one home?

I understand that I will get more support if I re-subscribe...
But if the answer is going to be "there is nothing we can do", I'll want my money back.

If a moderator could tell me WHETHER I could get an actionable response, I will resubscribe.

You know ... putting that reply here would help others immensely, and would save you from having to answer Help Desk tickets over and over again. As in, I have the same question !!

In fact, I just recently received a response to the posted ticket. Here is the answer:

Sorry for the delay on this. The answer is actually simple. Since the dollar sign is a special character for PHP (it defines variables) and all title and descriptions in the captions of SIGPro are parsed by PHP, this special character is seen as an empty variable and replaced with nothing. You have 2 solutions here:

a) Either escape the dollar sign, in other words, instead of just writing $ write \$ (that's a backslash before $).
b) Use the HTML equivalent for the $ which is " & # 3 6 ; " (without the double quotes, and no spaces between characters)

I'll make sure we document this in SIGPro's documentation page until we find a permanent solution to skip the PHP parser when the captions are read.
