The site is running on Joomla 3.8, running on php 7.0.23 and SIGPro is version 3.1.0. GD is enabled on the web server (hosting company). Template in use is "Joomspirit 123" but I have also tried with Protostar and the problem is the same. I have tried with JQueryeasy active and with it disabled. Tried with FireFox and Chrome. No popup blockers are in use on either of them. The problem is always the same - most of the popup engines just open a separate browser tab with the plain image on a dark background. No titles or descriptions on any of them.

FancyBox - problem as described above
ColorBox - problem as described above
PrettyPhoto - problem as described above
LightView - works fine
SlimBox2 - works fine
Fresco - works, (but leaves out the description entirely if it is too long)
Swipebox - problem as described above
Nivo Lightbox - problem as described above
Magnific Popup - problem as described above
HighSlide - problem as described above
LyteBox - problem as described above
SimpleBox - Description text shows, but no image
