JFolder::create: Could not create directory was created by Donal Hanafin
Hi all,
I recently transferred a site from our testing server to a live server and everything worked fine except I got an error creating thumbnail for any new images that were uploaded.  I decided to uninstall simple image gallery pro and re-install it.  When I went to re-install I get the following error message:

* JFolder::create: Could not create directory
* Warning! Failed to move file.

I tried to install the free simple image gallery but it did the same thing. Can anyone help me?

Hi there!

Permission issue!
I believe that the folder plugins/content/ of your joomla
hasn't the right permissions to get any plugin.

Do you get the same error if you try to install any other content plugin?

Try to change the permissions of the specific folder
in mode that the "joomla user" of the server can write in it.

Thank you!

That's what I figured based on what I had read up about it but I changed the permissions and it still doesn't work. I tried simple image gallery and it gave me the same error message. The image below has the permissions settings and it says it's writable

Have you installed your site directly from the server
or you uploaded all the files from some local computer?

I uploaded it with wsftp. Does that make a difference?  Could I manually upload the files?

I've somehow managed to fix this. The problem was I hadn't referenced the temp folder correctly. I had put in public_folder/tmp when just tmp was what it needed.  Sounds pretty stupid but there you go

Hi, could you tell me where to reference the temp folder? I have had the

Warning! Failed to move file.

error on sigpro v2 installation and I am running legacy 1.0. I had sigpro installed earlier but when I uninstalled and tried installation again, it does not install.

Cheers,
Shalabh

Hi Katia,

Thanks for your response. I had already checked the permissions. The plugins/content folder has writing permissions. I still get the error.

Regards,
Shalabh
