Fatal error: Allowed memory size of.... was created by hexydes
I just installed SIG Pro. On a page with four images, it works fine, captions, thumbnails, everything. On a page with about 8 pictures, I get the error message:
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4096 bytes) in..."
And then a directory listing. Can someone tell me why this is happening, and what I can do to fix it?
Thanks!

Also, I should mention that this was working fine before I installed SIG Pro.
ALSO also :) if I only have six images in the gallery, it works fine; if I add a seventh and eigthth, it crashes. I'm assuming there is some sort of memory overflow? Can someone confirm this?
Otherwise, it is working fine!

Another clue: it appears that it is just two images that are crashing it, and they are about 100k and 200k in size, respectively.

Have you tried with another image set?
If you do face memory or resource limits, it could also be your hosting package, too. ;)
Provide more info please...

I've tried it on pages with:
1. Six images (works)
2. Seven images (works)
3. Twenty-three images (works)
4. Twelve images (works)
5. Four images (works)
This is all on the same host. For the original page with the trouble, all I did was resize the images (they were roughly 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024, respectively) down to about 50%, and now they work in the page.
So this leads me to believe that it has to do either with an error with images over a certain resolution, or that the resolution affected the file size in such a way that it caused a memory error. As to whether this is something within the programming for the mambot, or an issue with the server...no idea, you're the experts. :)

A faulty recode/compress of a jpeg image (from the software you use) could have perhaps caused this issue. I'm just reporting this cause one more customer reported that he faced a similar issue. Re-compressing his images just did the trick... ;)
I always recommend Irfanview -www.irfanview.com- as the best batch image converter.

Yup, I use Irfanview too a lot, though in this case I used Adobe Photoshop (which hopefully doesn't have any JPEG compression bugs). :)
