Isolating galleries - front end editing

Per the SIG Pro page:

Frontend image gallery uploading is now possible to isolated user folders! That means your community's users or your site's content contributors can now use the handy Simple Image Gallery Pro editor button to upload and manage image galleries for their content. This option is applicable to any Joomla extension that allows frontend editing for its content (e.g. K2 or the default Joomla article system).

How do I disable this and let every user see the default image path, that you see in the backend?

You can't. It's enabled by default for security.

I do not want it to function like this, so where do I manually change the path?

You can't and it's really out of the scope of the support provided for SIGPro, either in the helpdesk or here.

As an alternative method, and again, purely to assist you but in no way guaranteed to work for you, you could use JCE (if you allow frontend users to access the /images folder) and have users create folder with images in them, then use the {gallery}...{/gallery} tags to embed them with some instructions next to your frontend editing form.

Yeah.. I looked at the coding and it is not as easy as just changing the path.

That's not a really good work around and defeats the purpose of have SIGpro.

You do make my point about the security issue being mute. I use JCE and my users have access to the /images directory.
So what's the point of making them have their own or not having an on/off switch for this feature.
I can see why you would have separate directories in some cases. Just not this time.

I noticed when logged into the front as SuperAdmin it functions like the backend.
I'd rather not, but I can just assign client as superadmin and we don't have to make the extra steps for dealing with content and galleries in separate places.

JCE does not allow access to /images by default (last time I checked).

In any case, if it's just a couple of people that actually own the site, making them managers (or another higher level member group) should work for you.
