Different Thumbnail Size for Galleries? was created by ewy
Hi @all,
I've installed Simple Image Gallery for testing, as I'm currently redesigning my brothers motorsport page with Joomla.
So far this plugin looks very useful - it's simple and straightforward.
Nevertheless I've got one main issue, and the search function didn't provide me with a solution for that: I want the gallery to look (more or less) the same as I've built the page today. You may look at foto-finish.info/phpAlbum/main.php?cmd=album to get an idea ... what I'm looking for is defining separate thumbnails (with size different from "normal" picture thumbs) for each gallery/folder. Is there a possibility to do so in SIG PRO?
Another - less important - question is whether SIG PRO does support on-the-fly generated watermarks (transparent copyright in images)?
Regards,
ewy

Hi there!
Have you tried to use this code ( you can take a look at the information page of sig pro )
I'm afraid that this version of sig pro doesn't support watermarking for the images.
You have to do it using the photoshop.
Thank you!

Thanks for your fast reply ... but I guess this option doesn't do what I'm looking for.
As far as I understand, the option does resize all thumbnails *within* a gallery folder, right?
So what I need is a "big folder picture", e.g. thumbnails of 600 px width, but thumbnails in this folder are smaller (e.g. 150 px width).
Is that possible anyhow?
(I've found another gallery - wbgallery - which allows to set a separate folder icon and define its size independent from picture thumbnails, but this gallery lacks other features, on the other side.)
Okay - this wouldn't be that bad, as long as the other feature would be possible ...
Greetings,
ewy

Hi again!
Hmmm... I'm afraid that my english aren't so good as I would... :-[
What do you mean exactly with the follow? Can you give a sample?!
If you have 2 folders and you want to display those 2 folders with different size on thumbs
you can do that
1st folder2nd folder
In this way, in the same page you will have thumbs of 600px with for the 1st folder
and thumbs of 300px for the second folder.
Thank you!

Hi vinikey,
thanks again for your fast reaction!
I understand your code samples ... but I guess maybe my need is not covered by SIG (PRO) anyhow. I don't want to have different icon sizes *within* the folders - but I want to have a huge thumbnail for the folder *itself* and "normal" thumbnail size for the pictures inside.
Let's start one step before. How do you link to galleries in SIG PRO? Is it possible to have a number of folders in one document/menu, and these folders contain different galleries?
My example is foto-finish.info/phpAlbum/main.php?cmd=album
Here you've got (quite big) pictures for all folders, and then you have all images within these folders.
Can SIG PRO be configured that way as well? Or do I have to create a menu entry for each gallery?
So I guess the point in my question is - can I define a folder thumbnail/picture for each gallery?
Greetings,
Christian

Hi there,
just wanted to let you know how I solved it for the moment. Seems to me like SIG PRO can't offer that feature, so I used the wrapper to include my current gallery. Here's the result (as one example): www.foto-finish.info/index.php/Events-2008
