Direct link to slideshow (not thumbnails) was created by diamond187
I've searched and was unable to find anything, but am looking for a way to directly show a full screen slideshow after someone clicks the link for it, bypassing the thumbnails.

Ideally, I would love to make this a direct link off my side menu, where when clicked it draws the slideshow on top of the current content, but it seems that you can't do that without first creating an article with your {gallery}where/my/photos/are{/gallery} tag in an article (and then link the article).

The only problem is that even if I do a {gallery}photos:::1{/gallery} to do a single thumbnail, the user still has to click that thumbnail to start the show.  Any way to bypass that portion?  I run a municipal website, so we cater to all varieties of user, from people that are IT professionals down to those who have never really been on a computer before; I don't want to show 50 thumbnails, but by the same token it's a bit confusing when you click a link that takes you to the article with a thumbnail that you then have to click through to get the slideshow.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

diamond187

Hi my friend!

I'm afraid that this feature isn't supported by this version of sig pro.
You could hide the thumbs and leave only the links. In this way, when you click on the link
you'll have the immediately popup effect.

Open to edit the file sigpro.php and go to the line 333
$html .= $leftcomment.'<img alt="'.$clickopen.'" title="'.$clickopen.'" src="'.$mosConfig_live_site.$tempfolder.md5($_images_dir_.$name).".".$format.'" />'.$rightcomment;

and change it with
$html .= $leftcomment.'Click to see the gallery'.$rightcomment;

You have to use the single mode of the sig pro ( as you've already said! )

Thank you!

Thanks for the response, I do appreciate it; however, it I'm guessing that although I could hide the thumbnail, I still couldn't put that in the menu since you can't do the {gallery} codes from the menu manager.

Is there a way to directly link the php file to emulate the same way you guys call it from clicking on the thumbnail?

Finally, we've got 81 pictures in the gallery and when you click the link to be taken to the one and only displaying thumbnail, it takes about 30 seconds to START to pull it up on a server where the average page load time (start to finish) is normally well under a second or two.  Is there any reason why it would be taking this long?  Even if the old bug where ti recreated all thumbnails for every session was still going on (which is does not seem to be, as the code is changed from that post), I can't imagine it would take more than a second or two for GD to make a thumb from a relatively small jpg for the single-thumb intro page!
