slow in IE7 was created by h a de wolff
hi
i'm using sipro in a joomla 1.5 site. however it is terribly slow in IE7, both in slideshow mode and single images (the latter won't even open sometimes)
it's great in Firefox though - superfast and no problem
it is like this on several different computers, flash plugins installed
link: www.businessmobilitycenter.nl
try slideshow honda insight and gallery honda s2000
thanks

Try to change the pop up engine in the plugin settings and the Slideshow engine in module settings.

yeah, i've done that, but the current settings are the only combination that allows both sigpro and Front page slideshow to work well together

Same issue with me. Lytebox is the only option that works for all browsers but it is very slow in IE7. Gallery is found here: www.fowlerhistory.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=83&Itemid=59 Running joomla 1.5.8.

Hi firetruck!
Hmmm... The script and the popup load in a good time to my computer
but it could be just in mine, because I receive 3 times "Internal Error Server"
from your server before the loading of the page.
It's really strange hearing that the jquery engines give some king of conflict in your site
because you don't have any jquery script pre-loaded in the page.
Can you please select the Greybox engine and leave it until I check out the errors
that returns?
You could set a demo page for that if you want.
Thank you!

I have since spoken with others using IE7 who have been able to view the photos with out any issues so I'm happy with that and assume it was just related to my machine.
My whole site is in development so no problem changing things, I have changed to the Greybox engine as you requested.
Regarding the Internal Server Error...yes, I am aware of that and have spoken with my host. It is the same issue noted elsewhere on the forum where my photos are taking up too many server resources when viewing the page for the first time and thus throwing that error. There are 125 images on the page you were trying to view which, while a good number, seemed like something that the host should handle. I am assuming that by the time my site is done you'll have your next version out which if I understand it correctly will have some kind of pagination thus I am not worrying about the errors right now.
Let me know what you find with Greybox.

Well, with Greybox I have the same good loading time.
This version of sigpro doesn't support a pagination system and we have engines
that require the preloading of all of the images before the execution of the script.
If you need to have so many pictures ( 100+ ) is better for now to "break" the content item into severals items.
We have in our plans to add new engines to the next version of sigpro, engines that can use ajax for the loading of the images. Of course we are already working on a directory's pagination system too.
Thank you!

Thanks for taking a look.
You've mentioned a number of times now your intention to provide an upgrade with new features etc. I can certainly go and break up my content but that will take time and my site isn't going to be live for a few months yet. Would you recommend me taking the time to break up my content now as you will not have a new version out in the next few months to do it for me? Or would you guess that something will be out in that time frame?
