Print out the thumbnails when content item is printed

Hi,

When I click on the print button on my page a pop up window launches where I can see the contents of the item including the sig pro thumbnails.  When I continue on to print the page the thumbnails are not printed - only the border around where they should be.

I have searched the forum and found this post relating to PDFs: forum.joomlaworks.net/index.php?topic=5213.0 and - even though it is the print functionality I need - I tried the fix for PDFs / plugins described here:

www.kksou.com/php-gtk2/Joomla/How-to-have-the-plugins-processed-when-genrating-PDF-documents-of-content-items-for-Joomla-1.5.x.php

and then enabled the PDF icons and tried generating one but that didn't work either - the thumbnails were not visible.

I need my visitors to see the thumbnails when they print out the page - how can I achieve this?  ???

Any help would be appreciated - this is urgently needed for a client as the site is already live.

Thanks.

Hi there!

You said that you used the patch of the kksou.com site.
Can you confirm please that after the patching, your joomla is 100% able to parse plugins during the creation of the pdf?
Also I would like a direct link to the gallery to check out the created pdf.

Thank you!

Hi,

Here is a direct link to one of the galleries:

www.projectartscentre.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5:noknowledge&catid=15:archive-visual-arts&Itemid=27

It is only the print function that I need to work NOT the pdf.  I tried the patch but it did NOT work:

even though it is the print functionality I need - I tried the fix for PDFs / plugins described here: www.kksou.com/php-gtk2/Joomla/How-to-have-the-plugins-processed-when-genrating-PDF-documents-of-content-items-for-Joomla-1.5.x.php and then enabled the PDF icons and tried generating one but that didn't work either - the thumbnails were not visible.

I don't care about the PDF generation - only printing... I was just trying things out before posting.  Can you help please?

Also, is there any news on the next release?  In this post: forum.joomlaworks.net/index.php?topic=3374.msg25864#msg25864 on Mar 20th you said there would be official news in the next few days.  I need my client to be able to print out the large versions of the image AND print out the thumbnails in the content item.

Thanks!

Can one of the developers please reply to this topic?  It is a week since my last post.  When you charge for a plugin there has to be better support then this.

Hi again!

The images of the sig pro cannot be viewed in the pdf because the images are displayed as background images.
If you look inside the html code you'll see that the images aren't displayed under the <img> tag.

I am afraid we can't do anything about that.
The 90% of our customers need the background images cause of the better view of the images on an html page.

About the v2 of the sig pro you can check out the sticky post in this forum
and the documentation will be released asap.

Thank you!

I need to PRINT the images - not output a PDF.  Is it the same issue for printing?

You cannot print the images output by SIG Pro, because they are background images. When balancing if we wanna have thumbnails in the dimensions we want (the approach we took for v2) or if we wanna be able to print the webpages containing the galleries, we obviously chose the first option.

Until browsers properly print webpages, all you can do is just enable the related printing settings in your browser of choice to print background images.

I have the same problem. I want to print the images, but they seem to be background images. I´m using k2 and ImageGallery Pro. Is there any solution to this yet?
