How to make Sig Pro No 1

I see, I'm not the only one struggling to find a suitable image gallery system.
Sig Pro is my personal favorite, but it lacks the sub-gallery presentation ability. With such option, I reckon it would soon be No 1 choice whenit comes to imaging&gallery plugins for Joomla.
A question for Sig Pro developers: Any thoughts and/or plans for such additional presentation layer for Sig Pro?
I tried to code such component myself, but I suck at PHP object-oriented concepts and I have to overcome too many obstacles and don't have enough time to do it. :(
Regards,
Mario.

Hi Mario,
When I spoke Fotis some months ago he said that it was in the plans to make a kind of gallery-component (I do not know if it is based on SigPRO, but I think it is). But I do not know if the plans still exist and, if they do, how long it takes them to make it.
With kind regards,
Peter

Hi Peter!
That would be awsome!
SiG Pro is very nice piece of work. A gallery-component would fill the gap between great picture presentation and gallery presentation.

In this post on forum.joomla.org, the author requests features that are out of the scope of a "simple image gallery". For that, there are many image galleries around to look for.
Now, for Simple Image Gallery PRO, we're preparing a very cool component which combined with a Joomla! editor plugin will give you the ability to quickly create your image galleries from within the article form page. What does this mean? You'll get a button "insert gallery" which opens up a nice lightbox popup, bringing up the SIG Pro component. This component works much like Joomla! media manager, only better: you can choose to upload a zip file of images, these images get autoextracted, you can write your captions using ajax and when you're done, hit "insert gallery code" and the required {gallery}... tags are inserted inside your Joomla article. So no need to FTP or edit any text files, everything is done within Joomla!
More over? You can edit your galleries later on since you can access the component as you would with any other component. In there you see listings of all your image galleries and you can quickly add more images or edit the captions.
Cool huh?

What you just said sounds like a great component. Looking forward to see it. :)
