Request for an option to load a single image {gallery}folder/img.jpg{/gallery} into the content and let (if you use more single images on the page) all these images be part of the same gallery so you can click through in lightbox mode (same [rel]).

So, an article with a couple of spread single images (with caption) and on the bottom of the article a gallery with all the images from the folder. *Perhaps an option to exclude the images already loaded in the article as single images? So you have one folder which contains all images, but the use is as gallery and as individual image as well.

This will put SIG's usability and integration much further. Please let me know if this is achievable.

when will this version be released - I'm looking for the same functionality where I can store all images from on article in one folder and place them in the article with one tag at the specific places it needs to be placed.

Also, I thought that the last release would have the functionality where the photo itself will be scaled as is done with the thumbnail - at the moment I need to scale all the photos in photoshop before I can upload it to the gallery photo - this is way to time consuming. When will this feature be added?

i have been applying a custom hack to the gallery so that it also offers this feature. Φώτη, if you want me to send you the code for a quick review and immediate update please let me know.

The principle is quite simple. I have extended the params by 1. The format is this:

{gallery}folder:width:height:displaymode:captions:manualLabelsPostfixOverride{/gallery}

The new param is the manualLabelsPostfixOverride which tells gallery that it does not want to read the whole folder but instead use a labels file as an index.

Such a labels file may named as : Labels_specialcollection.txt

Calling the plugin would be like

{gallery}folder:width:height:displaymode:captions:specialcollection{/gallery}

The format of the labels file is still the same...

This hack allows for the creation of galleries with a selection of files from one folder.

I initially did this because simply i wanted to have all the images in one big folder and then mix and match them at will.

I am not sure if i can publish the hack here for general use. I will wait until Fotis gets back to me .
