I have a locally installed version of joomla on my mac which I hope to host soon.  I'm using Mamp right now to create this site locally.

I was using the free version of the Simple Image Gallery and it was working GREAT, but I wanted a few of the pro features like the ability to override the global thumbnail sizes, so I dropped the cash and bought it.  Once I installed it, I expected it to work just as the free version had.  BUT, it doesn't.  It works fine on some pages, but not on most.

Some problems I have include:
  • When clicking a menu item which should go to a category blog layout of a video portfolio, absolutely nothing shows up...only a blank screen
  • Another "category blog layout" menu link shows a page with no template, only unformatted text with some photos

Is this common?

First of all, did you uninstall Simple Image Gallery before you install SIG PRO? Because you should...

Secondly, I would be glad if you had your website online so as to see the problems.

At first, no.  But then I uninstalled both, let the caches clear, and then reinstalled the pro version.

I have also found out that it seems that only certain articles trigger this behavior.  I still havent figured out what causes it though!  I was suspecting the file size of the images, but I am starting to think that isn't it.

I too would love to have my site online for you to check!  I may start looking for a host sooner than I expected for this very reason.

Just an update...

I reinstalled Joomla, hoping that would help.  It seemed to but then, same problem happened.  I think that maybe there is a filesize limit.  I noticed this only happens when I have galleries with images larger than 700px wide.  Seems dumb, but thats what I know so far.  Anyone know any fixes?
