Layout template for top image row brocken was created by Martin Bargiel
Hi there,
After updating to the current version 2.0.4 (the same happened with 2.0.0, but never with v1.2), there is a strange behavior for the option of the "default Layout template for image galleries". This is my favorite layout, but the Top row of my images are cut of, at the top. But not only the image, but the Gallery Layout Template also! The 2nd row and so on looks fine. Just the 1st. Look here:

www.into-focus.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=10&Itemid=408
or
www.into-focus.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=175&Itemid=413
In fact you can brows any article in my Photography section, and you will see this. Doesn't matter if its a landscape or portrait image  :(

Another question is, if I can make the white color behind the thumbnails transparent. I like the option "Fit thumbnails to available viewport?", but then the white color pops up. There must be a way to switch to transparent.

I'm not an css person, but I could give it a try when pointed step by step in the right direction  ;)

Thanx in advance,
Martin

The problem is the CSS.

Try adding the following to your templates CSS file

li.sig-block { background:none !important; }
li.sig-block span.sig-link-innerwrapper { background:#FFFFFF; margin:0 !important;}

Thank you guys for the tip. It worked perfectly.

Now I'm trying to figure out, how to put the drop shadows and the alpha shadow .png files around the image (like in the default template) directly close to the images, which are NOT zoom to fill up the entire border square.

Do you know what I mean? That would look pretty much like the template in the v1.2 SigPro.

I don't know if the padding inside the thumb (between the image and the border), is necessary to have them aligned in the middle.

I would still like the alignment in the middle, like it is, but have the image borders and shadows stick right to the image, and have the padding for the centering outside.

Since I'm not a css guy, all I can do is play around with the values, but so far everything looked screwed up  :'(

It seem to me that you have solved this.  :)
