Just purchased and installed simple image gallery in Joomla 1.5. extensions/plug-ins. How do I use it? Normally I upload images (after downsizing them as the original images are from 1.3 to 2.7 megabytes) to folders in Media Manager. Do I continue to upload them like before or what do I need to do to have small images on site with pop-up larger images?

Actually the filesizes you want to upload are to be avoid because the memory limit of your server will probably not be enough to show these images. Try to upload images with 800x600 or 1024x768 as max dimensions so as to avoid any of this problem.

Now after uploading for each gallery a folder with their images (or first create the folders and then upload the images, as you like) inside images/stories/foldername(for example galleries)/foldername for each gallery, you go to the article in which you want the gallery to show and add {gallery}folder of each gallery{/gallery}. All this after you have set the correct parameters to the plugin (path for the images, size, popup engine, etc).

Can you relocate where the plugin looks for pictures?  i would like to use images/category1/folder  rather than images/stories/folder

SOLVED:
you have to edit the php file directly to change the directory it looks in.
