I have Joomla 1.5 and just purchased and installed Simple Image Gallery Pro.
I've checked and the permissions for images are 755. So that should be ok.
Then I inserted {gallery}images/urbanimpact{/gallery} after the text on the page(article)where I wanted the images to appear and saved it. After publishing the page doesn't show the images but the text {gallery}.... What do I do wrong ? I also tried it with not just the "images/urbanimpact" but the whole {gallery}/home/xxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxx.com/images/urbanimpact{/gallery} which is the complete file path in Joomlas Media Manager.
Can someone help me ? What do I need to do to get the images to show?

Is the plugin enabled? Is the cache folder writable for the thumbnails to be created? Can you provide a link to your site to check?

if your root folder in the plugin is set to the default images/stories and the plugin is enabled then:

{gallery}urbanimpact{/gallery}

might work but it looks like your urbanimpact folder is not under stories but just under images so change the plugin root folder to images or move urbanimpact to be within stories
