SIG Pro captions was created by Anita Atkin
I want to write individual captions to images in my image gallery. In the plug in manager I have changed the default caption handling to Read contents of captions files. I now see in Media Manager that there is a labels.txt file in one of the image gallery folders. This file is in the folder where the image gallery photos for the front page are. No other image gallery folder has this labels.txt file. Should this labels.txt file appear in all the SIG folders ?
How and where do I go to write the individual captions ? I have spent hours trying to figure it out and cannot get anywhere. Could someone please walk me through this step by step.

Hi Montoya,

The file "labels.txt" will appear in every folder you use SIG Pro on. So first of all I suggest you create a structure for your galleries, or it could become real messy over time if you create galleries out of random folders here and there.

Once you have created your gallery - run it. When you view your gallery on your website, SIG creates the file called "labels.txt" in the image folder, as described above.

Then, to change/edit the captions you have to open this file and replace the dummy text in there with your own text. When done, save and upload the file again, overwriting the original one.

Also check THIS POST about captions for more info.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Lt. Columbo
