You have to have FTP access to the server. Locate the file, download it to your PC, edit it and after saving it in UTF-8 encoding you upload it to the same location.

Hi
I downloaded the labels.txt file from the home/front page folder to desktop and was able to put text into it and then uploaded it so that the first image worked fine. I will later do the rest of the images in the first folder.
The other image folders seem to be another problem as they have no txt file in them. so then I will put the txt file into each folder with image numbers from the respective image folders and also the appropriate text. So what I am trying to do is to replace the image file numbers from that folder and add the text and then transfer that txt file into each image folder.
Thank you all for your help

Hi,
Is there an easier way a non-techie could update the labels.txt file? Ideally via Joomla! admin?
My client needs a LOT of help, and the idea of FTP'ing the labels.txt file to the server would just blow her mind.
I think she'll be able to handle the syntax of the labels.txt file once I explain it to her, but I'd like to make it as easy as possible.
I've been thinking of making a bespoke page that could select the relevant labels.txt file, and restricting the relevant fields within a form. But this seems like too much work (especially as she doesn't want to pay for it).
Any ideas?
TIA - Derrick

I have the same issue. FTP is not an option for my client. Trying to upload the new label.txt file via Joomla admin in media manager we get the following message - "Possible IE XSS Attack found."
Is there a work around?
Thanks

do the captions in image gallery pro act in the same way as alt tags? (when you manually insert them using the text file handling option) do the captions carry the same seo weight as alt tags, and are the images indexed by google in the same way as images embedded on static html pages?
Are there any future seo-based developments in the works?
thanks for your help.
