We're really new to all this Joomla & plugins concepts and thus there are few problems (which I believe are small) we encounter while using the SIG Pro.

Actually since we'd bought it we've never been able to use it even once so we're probably at the very beginning of things. I've also done a search on these topics on the forum, got results but because of my condition(new to all these stuff) they didn't really mean anything to me, so my apologies...

I would like this thread to go as a conversation where I'd be able to ask my questions and hopefully learn from the answers.

Problem 1:

I'm trying to do a gallery with a single image.
It is the number 3 example of "Putting it all togetger" at the documentation:

In my article I insert the following code:
{gallery}djfoto:200:260:1:0{/gallery}

and I get the following error:

Hello Katia, I feel something is not just quite right about the support I'm "getting" here. Please answer my PM or let's find a solution here so that other people can benefit.

You have permission issue! I enabled the debug mode so as to check it out:

So as it is said in documentation:
"In order for Simple Image Gallery PRO to function properly, please make sure that you are running at least PHP 4 and that PHP's GD image library is installed on your server (common webhosts have GD installed by default).

You also have to make sure that Joomla's /cache folder is writable, in other words, check that the permissions for this folder are 755 or 777."

After you set your gallery remember to turn your
Thumbnail cache expiration time back to 120!
