I found some questions about multilanguage galleries in this forum. I had the same problem and found a simple solution that works perfectly on my site:

Just change line 37 in sigpro.engine.php from

$captionFile= "labels.txt";

into

$captionFile= "labels-".$_REQUEST.".txt";

Now Simple Image Gallery uses one labels file for each language e.g. labels-de.txt

My configuration:
joomla 1.5.14
joomfish 2.0.4
simple image gallery pro 2.0.5
