Gallery image hyperlink? was created by sgaurelius
Hi guys.
I have a gallery of images and I would like to add a preview of them, few of those pictures in another section. Currently, I have just added 6 images, one from each Gallery, simply by adding the image inside the text and adding a hyperlink (antoniagavve.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=59&lang=en). I was wondering if I could use simple image gallery pro for that, because it's so much nicer. So, having the 6 images, but when you click on them, instead of opening the image to forward the user to the corresponding webpage.
Thanks :)

You can create different subfolders (if not already) for each gallery you want. Then you can use the Single thumbnail option and instead of clicking to the image and go to a new page you can click to the image and open the SIG popup to view all images in that folder.

Ok, that's a solution, but now exactly what I want. I want the user to be able to go to the webpage with all these pictures, so as to have an overview of all the images in the subfolder. What I try to do is exactly what I have now in antoniagavve.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=59&lang=en , but instead of simple images to have Simple Image Gallery. Anyways, if I do what you say, then I have two questions.
1) How can you parametrize the plugin for the different pages of the website. So, in page #1 I want to have normal display mode, but in page #2, I want to have single thumbnail mode. Currently, I go to Extensions->Plugin Manager->Simple Image Gallery Pro and I can change it only globally.
2) How can I put them in a grid. As I said, I want to have the images one next to the other and then link them with a webpage. If I do what you say, I will just have 6 galleries one below the other and I will have to manually put them in a grid, which isn't any different than just using normal pictures.
Thank you very much for your help and time :)

As you will see at the link I provided above, under Custom Galleries you can define whether you want Single Thumbnail Mode or not and different parameters. You can have the default set of parameters inside the plugin and with the help of the extra parameters inside the tags you can achieve what you want.
I think that the grid wont be a problem as each gallery in a Single Thumbnail mode has a float left.
Give it a try and if you have any other question let me know.

Indeed, there is no problem with the grid. So, currently, it is like that
antoniagavve.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=59&lang=en
Ok, now the questions.
1) Can I open the webpage, when clicking the thumbnail, instead of opening the slideshow. The reason is that I would like the user to have an overview of all the images in the category first and not to have to browse though all of them serially.
2) Can I use different set of labels for these thumbnails? If I set the title option on, then the default text from labels.txt will be shown. But I want to have a different text, which will show the name of the category, not the name of the specific item.
Thank you :)

1) I'm afraid you can't. That is not the way the SIG Pro works.
2) You will just have to put as a title the category name then. The labels.txt file is for each photo. Unless you have one same category for all items and in which case you can rename the generic message.

Well, ok, I figured out a way to do it, but I 'd appreciate some help, because I am not expert in php or javascript.
So, I created a new gallery with only the pictures that are going to work as hyperlinks. Now, in order this gallery to work as hyperlinks, there could be another option in the "caption mode". Normally, this variable takes 3 values, 0, 1 or 2. Well, we could add a forth one, "3", which reads the description from the labels.txt and redirects to that webpage. The title could have the same functionality and be the title of the hyperlink. Now, what I cannot figure out is where the "popup" window is called. The only relevant file I found is the popup.php, inside the popup_engines subdirectories, however I cannot figure out where should I put the appropriate command. Can anybody help me?
Thanks :)
