Different thumbnails was created by Marjo van Berne
Hi all,
I was looking for a plugin to display a set of images and had bought SIG pro some time ago. Now I need to make a portfolio with other thumbnails then the big image itself (otherwise the thumbnail-images are hard to read...).
I've found this post: forum.joomlaworks.net/simple-image-gallery-pro-%28plugin%29/can-i-use-my-own-thumbnails/
Is this hack still applicable or is there another way to display other thumbnails? I have read you guys are working on this but I haven't been able to find this functionality.
Please let me know.
Cheers!

Why don't you increase the dimension of the thumbnails via the SIG PRO plugin settings?
After you do that, remember to clean your cache in order to see the chages you made!
However, if you want to create your own template for SIG PRO, just read the
Templates overrides for both Joomla! 1.0.x and 1.5.x (added in v2.0.3+) paragraph in SIG PRO documentation: www.joomlaworks.net/content/view/51/41/

Hi katia,
Thanks for your reply!
However, I can't display bigger images as I have quite a large amount of pictures and this would break my layout.
I really need to display other thumbnails than the popup image, do you know if the hack in the old post (linked below) is still applicable or if there is another way to do this? Can I display other thumbs by using template overrides?
Cheers, Fred

My suggestion is to increase the width of the thumbnails not of the images.
And yes you can create your own templates for the thumbnails too by using template overrides if you are familiar with css.
However, did you try the other pop up engines options?

Hi again Katia,
Maybe I misunderstood you or I didn't explain correctly. I can't display bigger thumbnails as this would break my layout and I have a set number of thumbs.
I don't think my problem can be solved using CSS as I need to display other thumbnails then the ones generated by SIG pro.
I don't think this will solve my problem, the same thumbs are generated. What I am looking for is a way to store thumbs and bigger images i.e. thumb1.jpg, image1.jpg., when clicking on thumb1.jpg, image1.jpg is opened in the popup. I would like to make the thumbs myself and have SIG pro popup a different image.
Thanks very much for looking into this, I hope there is a solution.
Cheers, Fred

Hi Katia,
I've managed to change my thumbs by adding my own thumbnail images (with corresponding SIG thumb names) in joomla's cache folder. Also i've set the thumbnail cache expiration to a long time so I can check whether it worked, and it did. Now my own thumbs are showing!
However, i expect the thumbs to be re-cached after cache expires. Can you tell me how i can disable cache-expiration (just keeping the cached thumbnail images forever)?
Again, help is much appreciated!!
