"CLICK_TO_ENLARGE" showing instead of the actual caption text

I've used the free plugin on my site:
www.cirovic-lucija.com/index.php/gledalisce-iz-desnega-zepka/peter-strah (just an example) and I've encountered problems with the way the gallery diplays.

On the thumbnails you can see that the caption says: "CLICK_TO_ENLARGE" when instead it should say "Click to enlarge" (or whatever you translate it to).

Also when the image opens in Lightbox, it says "JW_SIG_NAVTIP" instead of the actual Navigation Tip" that should display in that position.

I would use the Pro version, but it's not compatible with Joomla 1.6 yet.

Please assist.

Make sure that the language files exist in administrator/language/en-GB. If you are using a different language you will have to translate the language files for that as well.

the language file is in place and I only have one language on the site, that's the default (en_GB)... so that's not the problem...

This is a bug that has to do with the current php version. In 2.2 SIG version -which will be released soon- this problem will be solved.

Just installed the 2.2, unfortunately, it still does not work.

Commenting it out in the default.php does work.

Hello!! I'm using joomla 1.6 and sig 2.2 for j1.6. I have a problem with the frontend caption. All I can see is "CLICK_TO_ENLARGE" and "JW_SIG_NAVTIP". In the backend it's all right. Is there a way to fix this?

add CLICK_TO_ENLARGE and other non-translated text lines to your joomla default language file

Thanks, that did the trick, stupid I did not try that myself.. not a great solution, because with an update of Joomla the language files will be gone too. But for now it is okay.. thank you  ;D

I am noticing this issue as well. The definition of CLICK_TO_ENLARGE does exist in en-GB.plg_content_jw_simpleImageGallery.ini

What would be a solution?  The world needs solutions, not work-arounds.

The problem obviously lies with wrong permissions... So installing the latest SIG version just won't override some files... I strongly suggest you download Admin Tools from akeebabackup.com and use the built-in function to repair permissions. Then install the latest SIG version.

If that doesn't work, consult your hosting company, cause sooner or later you WILL stumble into a weird situation with another component, related to permissions...

One more thing... make sure you don't see an old override in your template... can happen sometimes..

Uhh, the problem doesn't "obviously" lie with wrong permissions, I have NEVER had SIG before today, so there is nothing to override. I have gone through and made sure all the files are CHMODd and CHOWNd correctly...

Also, I own the server, so I can't really "contact my hosting company", although, I don't need to, because its not an issue with permissions... :)
